Stuff I’m doing right now:
TV: I’ve just finished a six-week tour of Japan that will become a BBC film some time in the New Year.
Books: I’m working on another book: its about how we have destroyed our sense of the possibility of wilderness around us, but also about the resilience of nature – cycles of destruction and regeneration woven through a journey from a beleaguered urban river to the remote southern Alps in New Zealand.
Conservation: I’m currently advising WWF on the development of an exciting project to do with sustainable water useage ...
... and the Wild Trout Trust has just (unwisely) asked if I will take over as their new El Presidente.
Bonefish movie DVD: I’ve finally finished Bonefish – a Fishing Odyssey ... my very own audio-visual flight too close to the sun with waxy wings.
It’s a story of my quest to catch the fish of a lifetime, a double figure bonefish. Hell, its even picked up a good review or two.
